Movie Summary

The Ice Age crew are back again, all of them have gotten a bit older and the baby from the last movie is now a teenager, with teenager problems. Sid is still an outcast and Diego is still a loner. Now according to the movie, the whole continental drift occurred as a result of that squirrel dropping his acorn down in the center of the earth and started everything. Manny is being his usual overprotective self and peaches is being a regular teen, when things started moving and cracking. Manny, Diego and Sid become detached from them and wind up stranded on a chunk of ice.

It is sad for a minute as they are thrown about by the raging sea, before it eventually calms down and they realize that they cannot see their home. They come upon a pirate baboon, who takes them into his crew but they manage to escape and destroys his ship. This of course angers the baboon and he gets another ship and vows to get his revenge. Manny, Diego and Sid land on the other side of the island that the baboon had gone for his ship and also restock on food supplies. The trio befriend the local animals and starts a revolution and takes the baboon ship again and sets sail for their home.

This angers the baboon even more because he was betrayed by one of his crew members, who is in love with Diego. The trio return home just in time but have to deal with the baboon pirate who is preventing them from saving Manny’s family. The pirate is defeated and they all live happily ever after (well you know what I mean)

Review

I would recommend this movie for young children as it is entertaining but not the most entertaining family movie. At times it can be boring and I am not a very big fan of that musical scene and very predictable.
