A small town girl moves to the city in order to further her singing career, she gets robbed and meets a city boy who is also trying to pursue his dreams. He gets her a job at a legendary rock club that he was also working at and they fall in love. The club however is facing financial difficulties and is also being protested by the mayor’s wife. But in hopes of saving the club, the owners manage to get rock legend Stacy Jaxx to perform, supposedly for free. The couple break up after he thought she cheated on him with the rock legend Stacy Jaxx, which is around the time that he was able to get his rock career off the ground, and she quit and started working at an exotic dancing club.
Unknown to Stacy Jaxx his manager had made off with the club’s earnings for the night. The “city boy” career eventually led to him being placed into a boy band, the two meet and talked it out and got back together. Stacy Jaxx fired his manager and gave the club back it’s funds and did a final show. The mayor’s wife was exposed as a former Stacy Jaxx groupie and the club is saved from being forced to close.
I am not that big into musicals, but this I like and the movie is pretty funny and entertaining. The songs are from old and legendary rock anthems, which may have contributed to the movie winning me over.
